Creating Recycled Plastic Products for Salons!

We currently live in a ‘take-make-waste’ linear society where we make materials, products and packages that we often use just once. These are usually made from virgin materials taken from the earth, like plastic which is made from crude oil. When we feel like we no longer need or want these things, we simply throw them away. 

However, we want to move towards a circular economy, where resources are endlessly reused and we no longer need to extract new materials from the planet. One way we’re looking to contribute to this, beyond our salon waste recycling programme, is by collaborating with our research partners Brothers Make and Relic to create recycled plastic products for the hair and beauty industry. 

Our pilot batches of plant pots and shampoo bar holders are made from locally collected plastic waste and we will be integrating hairdressing plastics in the near future. This will mean creating truly circular products for an industry made from the waste materials from that same industry. Now we’re talking!


NEW products now available:

These recycled plastic plant pots will look amazing in your salon, allowing you to add a pop of colour and greenery! Plants are great to brighten up your salon, as well as improving air quality and boosting people's moods.

  • Made from 100% locally collected Polypropylene (PP) plastic waste. This includes things like bottle tops, hangers and broken tupperware lids!
  • Measures 7cm tall by 7cm diameter at the top and 5cm diameter at the bottom.
  • Available in three unique 'marbled' colours: ivory, blue and pink.
  • Handcrafted by Relic in Lancaster, England.

These recycled plastic shampoo holders are perfect for holding shampoo, conditioner or soap bars in salon! At a little under 8cm wide, they've been designed these to fit on even the smallest sinks, so they can find their place in anyone’s home or salon.

Each soap dish is unique, as the recycled plastic shreds are measured, mixed, injected and finished by hand.
